Plants that fight Cancer is an up-to-date, extensive review on plant genera and species with anticancer properties that have been documented, serving as an invaluable aid to anyone engaged in cancer therapy or research.

In the first part of the book current knowledge is briefly described, along with the conventional, advanced and alternative treatments for cancer. The second part is a general review of plant-derived groups of compounds with anticancer properties (chemistry, biosynthesis, mode of action). The third part contains detailed information on individually each of more than 150 terrestrial plant genera and species (tradition and myth, distribution, botany, culture, active ingredients and product application, including an analysis of expected results and risks) along with photographs and illustrations of each species. In the fourth part, algal extracts and isolated metabolites with anticancer activity are reviewed.
